When millionaire businessman James King (Ferrell) is convicted of tax evasion he finds himself facing a ten-year sentence in San Quentin prison. With just 30 days to sort out his affairs and prepare himself for a life behind bars James enlists the help of Darnell Lewis (Hart), the owner of a car wash company who James mistakenly believes is an ex-convict. Darnell accepts the challenge and arranges all manner of activities that will get James to toughen up.
